OSTERIA DELL'ANGELO - Via G. Bettolo 24 - Roma  | Above-average traditional Roman food, in a highly popular restaurant run by Angelo an ex-rugby player. Set Menu from "i facioli all'uccelletto" to the "Abbacchio allo scottadito". Booking is advisable, prices are moderate considering this area (35€ fixed menu). This is the right placeto taste some of Rome typical food without needing to know the dishes to order. They will serve you very quickly and with a good variety of good things. |
FRANCHI - Via Cola di Rienzo 200 - Roma | One of the best "fast food" in Rome, a real triumph of cheeses,sausages and an ample choice of cold or hot food to take away, including roast chicken. They also make up customized lanches on demand and have great wines to go with. To taste without any doubt: Calzoni Fritti filled with prosciutto, salame and mortadella (2.80€). It is one of the most expensive take away of Rome but we really recommend to come here at least once during your stay in Rome (it is located at only 5 minutes walk from Piazza del Popolo going towards Piazza Risorgimento).

CASTRONI - Via Cola di Rienzo 196 - Roma | Huge international food store with a large selection of Italiab treats including chocolates,pastas, sauces and olive oils, as well as hard-to-find international favourites like plum pudding and Mexican specialities. This place is perfect for stopping during a shopping walk in via Cola di Rienzo (the street is very well known in Rome Prati for clothes and shoes shops) to buy some of its sweet specialities. |
